Ed enjoys the fruits of his labor at a local art show
About
Edwin Forrest was born a third generation San Franciscan in June of 1945 and was raised in Los Altos, CA. After graduating from Santa Clara University in 1968, Ed started working in construction management. After years in the business, he started his own company (Sacramento based Forrest Restoration Company) working in the restoration of stone, marble and tile. His restoration projects further developed his natural artistic skills, and helped him to develop a keen eye for color and texture.
After 50 years, Ed entered retirement and started taking oil painting classes at Sacramento City College under Professor and department head Chris Daubert. Through these classes and with the encouragement of Professor Daubert, Ed has found his passion in oil painting. His style is referred to as “Hard Edge Nonrepresentational,” but he calls it his “hard edge obsession.”
After years of dedication, Forrest has made a name for himself in the Sacramento art scene. His work has been showcased in Galleries such as Beatnik Studios, The E Street Gallery, and the Be Cool Club. He continues to paint daily at his home-studio in Sacramento.
